Interior Designer

As a member of the MMI team, this person will assist in every step of the project life cycle, including meeting with clients, developing design schemes, creating custom design plans, drafting, sourcing products and materials, managing project installations, and all related project administration.

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Architecture or Design
  • Minimum 3 years of architectural or interior design experience with portfolio of work, including demonstrated expertise in both kitchen/bath and furnishings design
  • Extremely motivated and extraordinarily detail-oriented
  • A strong team player who also works well independently
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, growing environment and juggling the demands of multiple projects simultaneously
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral
  • Advanced proficiency in drafting highly, detailed architectural drawings in Chief Architect or similar drafting software
  • New-Construction/Renovation experience with technical understanding of architectural renderings and plans
  • Ability to “rock” a spreadsheet, proficiency with a tape measure and comfortable with all related math
  • Strong knowledge of local (and national) showrooms and vendors
  • Daily use of own vehicle for driving in Houston area and potentially, some out of town travel

Time Requirement

Full-time – 40 hours per week

Design Assistant

As a member of the MMI team, this person will assist principal designers in project life cycle, including assembly of design specifications, creating custom design boards, client proposals and presentations.  This candidate will also assist with project installations, and all related project administration, including maintaining project schedules (i.e. finishes, drawings, budgets, and timelines).

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field
  • Minimum 2 years of related work experience
  • Extremely motivated and extraordinarily detail-oriented
  • A strong team player who also works well independently
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, growing environment and juggling multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral
  • Ability to “rock” a spreadsheet
  • Assist principal designers with sourcing construction-related finishes, fabrics, furniture, lighting, hardware, rugs and accessories
  • Coordination with vendors, fabricators, receiving houses throughout the project cycle to ensure timely installation of project 
  • Assist with creation of client presentations and proposals as well as maintaining project schedules (i.e. finishes, drawings, budgets, and timelines).
  • Strong knowledge of local (and national) showrooms and vendors
  • Daily use of own vehicle for driving in Houston area 

Time Requirement

Part-time – with potential for full-time
