About Michele

Michele Merz is the Founder and Principal designer of the award-winning firm MMI Design. Her approach to design is grounded in the idea that a home should be above all else comfortable, used, and loved. With an incredible eye for color and unique details, she works closely with her clients to translate their ideas into designs while bringing the unexpected to rooms to make them well, uniquely you! Her use of natural elements and textures with a modern edge alongside traditional pieces adds warmth to her interiors all while telling the story of her client’s lives and experiences.

With Michele’s extensive experience in renovation design, she leads the firm’s construction-related projects ranging from whole-house renovations, kitchen and bath remodels, and anything in between. The attention to detail Michele took away from her time as a financial leader in the corporate world is one of her greatest assets as a designer. Her gifted ability to reimagine and repurpose spaces, allows her to create beautifully transformed homes while assisting clients with the myriad of technical details that routinely accompany design projects.
